At Ryun Livestock, our goal is to produce quality, performance Appaloosa horses with excellent personalities, beautiful conformation, athletic ability, and the distinguishing factor of an Appaloosa...color! Our horses are true all-around athletes, in other words, horses that posess both the mind and movement to excel in many disciplines - both on the rail and off. We proudly offer the stallion services of Silver Medallion earner, Straws Mighty Magnum, the only double registered, proven Gold Champange Appaloosa stallion on the market today. Through him, we strive to add the rare Champagne dilution gene to the already beautiful Appaloosa coloring for a truly unique performance Appaloosa.
While our main focus is our Appaloosa horses, we have a small but growing commercial herd of black Angus and Angus cross cattle. With our cattle, we strive for a maternal mother cow that produces a healthy calf with good natural weight gain each year. Our cattle are hardy and efficient with moderate size.
Ryun Livestock, formally known as Still Seeing Spots Appaloosas, is still
owned and operated by Jacob & Kristine Ryun, with their 3 young children, as
a family business. With the addition of a commercial cattle herd, we decided
Still Seeing Spots Appaloosas was no longer a fitting name. However, our
name is the only change - personalized, daily care is still an important
part of our operation - and our focus remains on quality - not quantity.
While known as Still Seeing Spots Appaloosas, we relocated a few times due to Jacob's active duty status with the United States Air Force. Originally located in Wisconsin, we moved to Alaska and Illinois before settling in North Dakota after Jacob left active duty in 2009 and joined the North Dakota Air National Guard. We now live on a quiet cattle ranch nestled in the North Dakota badlands. A new location, a new name, but still working to produce the best Appaloosa horses!
Whether you are looking for a World Champion show horse or a backyard
companion horse, at Ryun Livestock we have the horse for you. We are
dedicated to promoting and preserving the Appaloosa horse through the
performance of our Appaloosa horses. Please take a few moments to explore
our website and discover the Appaloosa - you won't be dissapointed. Now,
join us as we share our wonderful horses with you.
